Trouble remembering your user names and
passwords?
If you use Microsoft's Internet Explorer 4 or 5, you can
automatically save you user name and password, Netscape doesn't have this
feature (that I know of). Additionally, it is a good idea to save your user
names and passwords on 3 x 5 cards in an index card file or on a spiral version
of the cards in case your computer crashes, etc. Here are two neat programs, the
first one keep passwords, while the second program has a few more features:
PassKeeper for Windows by Brad Greenlee (Free)
Password Keeper for Windows by Gregory Braun (Free to try, $20
if you decide to keep it.) |
|
Remember that you can use your web browser to
search the contents of any web page for specific words or names
by clicking on "Edit" in the menu bar (in most web browsers), then
"Find" (in most web browsers) and typing in the word or name, then
clicking on "OK" or something equivalent to that word. Happy hunting!

I'm needing information that you may have on this family. Joel Allen Williams was b.
abt. 1873 and lived in Dutch Creek, Yell, AR. His son is Morris Marl McCoy Williams b.
(date removed to prevent Identity Theft). I think
Joel could be the son of Morris M.
Williams. I found a Martha J. McClendon b. Sep 1835 TN? as the mother of
John Williams, b. 1864, in the census of Dutch Creek, Yell Co.,
AR. in 1900. Do you have anything on these Williams? I think they were from LA. I'm seeing the name of a
Hardy Williams, also. Thanks, Ina

I was wondering if you had any information on Joe Henry McLendon from
somewhere close to Mobile, AL. I think the name of the town starts with a C, but I do not know any towns close to Mobile. My husband has
never met his father who is Joe Henry McLendon. He should be about 79 or 80 years old. I think he was born on
(date removed to prevent Identity Theft). My husband name is Charles Olin McLendon, and his mother's name at the time of the marriage
to Joe, was Dorothy Tomlinson, of Sarasota, FL. Charles was born on
(date removed to prevent Identity Theft). If you have any information, could you please e-mail me back. We would love to find him. Thank you for all you can or will be
able to do for us. Thank you. Linda McLendon

Subject: From a descendent of the founder of McClendon Texas
Dear Ms. McClendon -
My grandmother was Eula Powell Shytles. Before she died at 97 years old
she told me that her grandfather founded that community with a general store and blacksmith shop. Both my grandparents on the paternal branch of
my family stated that their people came to Texas out of Tennessee around the Selmer area. An interesting side to my contact with you: I was
researching Col. Zack Miller of the 101 Ranch in Oklahoma when the link
sight referenced me to the McClendon name which would establish a connection to the Edmond,
OK area.
The town in Texas in which you are interested is in Rockwall County just northeast of Dallas.
It is now incorporated as McClendon-Chisholm on our state registry.
I don't know for sure if you and I are related but if we are I think it is quite interesting that I just completed my first degree in
counseling from Texas Wesleyan University here in Fort Worth, Texas. This to complement the
prison ministry and gang intervention mediation that I perform. I also work as residential counselor for the Masonic Home and School here as well.
I apologize if I have unduly burdened you with additional E-mail, but I do hope that some of this information will be of use to you.
His light shine on you.

My great Aunt Margie (Margorie) Hock was married to
R. C. Mac McClendon and lived in Bogalusa, LA. Mac and Margie had two girls,
Marilyn and Sherri. Marilynn lives I believe in Florida and Sherri is married to Michael Tolle,
and they currently live in Kenner, LA. Mac and Margie worked for the paper company and Mac also had a water pump company for many years.
Margie was the youngest daughter of Jean Raoul Hock and
Marie Justelia Euphrosie LeBlanc (my great grandparents). She was born April 13, 1916 and
died Nov 4, 1994.
Am looking for additional info on R. C. Mac McClendon's parents and siblings.

Dear Pat:
Thank you so much for the information. I lived with Mac (R. C. Mac McClendon)
and Margie in 1970 while I attended Southeastern Louisiana University. I never knew
Chuck McClendon, he died in an oil platform accident in 1969. Mac told me that he fell off an oil platform and ruptured his spleen and bled to death on the way to the hospital. I did meet
Dee McClendon and his wife Betty and I believe their son Greg
McClendon. On the weekends when I was in Bogalusa, I used to help Mac with his pump work. I saw more of Louisiana and Mississippi that semester, traveling with Mac to fix someone's water well pump that in the six years I lived in Baton Rouge after I graduated from college. Last time I saw Mac and Margie was at Margie's
sister's funeral in 1974.
We're having our first Baughman and allied family reunion on Saturday,
March 27, 1999 at the Paul B. Johnson State Park, 14 miles south of Hattiesburg, MS. We sent out over 250 invitations to relatives. I sent one to Mike and Sherri and hope they can come. If she does, I hope to fill in some of the other gaps that I have. I'll send you whatever I am able to find.

I am looking for information on my GG Grandfather J.P. (Jeremiah Pearson)
McClendon. He was born 17 Feb 1828 and died 21 Aug 1888. He is buried at Mt. Zion
Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Georgia. He served in the Confederate Army as a
Pvt. in the 63rd Georgia, Co. G, Volunteer Infantry. He was wounded in the
Battle of Franklin in Tenn. but survived the War to apply for a Soldiers
Pension. He is listed in the 1850 Census Records as living in the house of
Adams, Mary S. 52 and married to Sarah E. 16, with two children, Sarah 1, and
Mary 2 mos. I believe that he may have come from Anson County in North Carolina
but do not know this for sure. I need help in making the connection back to
North Carolina. I have other information on his descendants which I am willing

Good morning Pat,
Yes, that is my grandfather's (Hollis McClendon) information that you looked up, and
actually my grandmother, Audrey, is still alive and resides in West Memphis, Arkansas. Her maiden name is Minton, but of course she still goes by
McClendon.
My father lives in Winston-Salem, and he has one sister named Barbara Carruth, who lives in Germantown,
TN.
I have two brothers and one sister. My older brother, Robb McClendon, was born
in (date removed to prevent Identity Theft) and lives in Independence, MO and he has three daughters. My younger brother is married without children and his name
is John McClendon. He was born in (date removed to prevent Identity
Theft). I have a younger sister, Amanda
McClendon Norris, and she is also married. She was born in (date removed to
prevent Identity Theft). They have
one daughter and one son, and live in Wilmington NC.
I have some more information at my house regarding my great-grandparents. It is just a matter of me being able to locate it.
I do believe that my great-grandfather was probably born in Hot Springs, AK, as that is the only place I remember the family talking
about. He died in Hot Springs a few years after my grandfather passed away. (1984 or 1985). His wife's name was
Pearl, and she preceded him in death by maybe 10-15 years. I vaguely remember her.
Let me know if you want, or need, any more information. My number here at OSU, Oklahoma State
University, is (405) 744-1946. I normally teach one class everyday, a lab on Wednesday afternoon, and then I also attend some classes for my own
benefit as well. Feel free to call.
Sincerely,
Steve McClendon

Hi Pat,
Here is the information I found on my great-grandparents from the McClendon lineage. As I previously informed you, my grandfather was
Hollis McClendon, and his parents were Luther Otis McClendon, and
Pearl Ivory (Brantley) McClendon. My great-grandfather Luther was born
in Pike County, Arkansas in 1889, and my great-grandmother Pearl was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1895. Pearl was also part Indian, as
her grandfather was 100% Native-American.
I obtained the above mentioned information from my grandfather's sister Neddy
McClendon, who lives in Arkansas. Pearl and Luther McClendon had four children, three of which are still alive.
Neddy McClendon lives in Arkansas, as well as her sister
Elgin (McClendon) Dawson. Her other sister is
Virginia (McClendon) Webb, and she lives in Memphis,
TN.
Once again Pat, I want to thank you in advance for your interest and your assistance. Any information from yourself, or anyone else, will
be greatly appreciated.
